Hiya!
I’m back at work after taking the day off for my birthday. I haven’t been able to blog the last few days because the wireless signal I normally er, borrow at home isn’t working. Can you believe that? What type of complaint can a girl file in a situation like this? I think I’ll just start knocking on doors and asking. It could go two ways:
Me: “Do you by chance have an unsecured wireless connection that’s stopped working?”
Unsuspecting Neighbor: “Um, no. Are you the neighbor who steals my newspaper and has wild screaming fits at 3 in the morning?”
Me: “Um, no. Kbai!”
OR
Me: “Do you by chance have an unsecured wireless connection that’s stopped working?”
Unsuspecting Neighbor: “Why, yes! How did you know?”
Me: “Well, um…I’m with the Extra-Sensory-ily Perceived Internet Connection Police and ya know, I just had a feeling you were having a problem. What can I do to help?”
Hmm. Perhaps this plan needs more work. In the meantime, please admire Moxy’s sweet kitty Emmy Lou. She’s such a lady, with her dainty crossed paws!

Hope you had a wonderful birthday!! With lots of a) cake or b) cookies to help ring in the day.
I’d definitely go with the 2nd option in the unsecured wireless. You could always say that *your* wireless router isn’t working, and you weren’t sure if it was a problem with the hardware, or maybe the building’s wiring.
(P.S. Check your gmail account - there should be a waiting ecard in there.)
(P.P.S. Miss Emmy Lou is such a pretty pretty princess!)

you could always knock and ask if you can use their wireless to send a quick email since yours is down! ?
