I’ve Created a Monster

When I taught my Dad how to e-mail, I also introduced him to mailing lists, explaining that he could sign up to receive all kinds of information. I mentioned that I subscribe to Merriam Webster’s Word of the Day list. He immediately signed up as well, proving that my logophilia is definitely genetic. Ever since then, he sends me a sentence each day using the Word of the Day. Today’s word is “rebarbative” which means “repellent, irritating.” This morning he sent me this sentence:

“The hound in the next building made a rebarbative sound early in the morning. Three yellow birds flew east to escape the sound.”

Heh – silly.
