On Pastry

Have you ever had a blueberry scone at Starbucks? It’s a fluffy symphony of flour and refined sugar, which we all know are perfect ingredients for tricking your body into craving more. And the blueberries? Nothing more than a tasty afterthought like the pumpkin in pumpkin bread or the carrot in carrot cake. Damn good, is what I’m saying and to be avoided at all costs! The fact that I’m blogging about Starbucks blueberry scones certainly DOES NOT indicate that I got one this morning…with a latte. Just so we’re clear.

Thank the LORD the holiday weekend is finally here! I need a little break like nobody’s business.
